Description

Xylene is a colorless liquid and vapor. It is not soluble in water and is flammable at room temperature. Xylene gas is heavier than air, although the liquid is less dense than water and will float on top if combined. Xylene is one of the top chemicals produced in the U.S. and is commonly derived from crude petroleum.

DANGER: Xylene is a flammable liquid and vapor. Xylene is harmful in contact with skin or if inhaled. It is harmful in contact with skin or if inhaled and causes serious eye and skin irritation. It is suspected of causing cancer if inhaled. Xylene may be fatal if swallowed or enters airways. It may cause respiratory irritation or may cause damage to organs through prolonged or repeated exposure if inhaled.
