Description

Nitrogen is a transparent, odorless gas at room temperature. It makes up 78% of the air of our atmosphere. It is present in all organisms as amino acids within DNA.

Nitrogen is present in the air we breathe. Health effects described may occur at concentrations greater than 80%. Contact with liquefied nitrogen can cause frostbite. Exposure to very high levels of pure nitrogen can cause you to feel dizzy and lightheaded, and if it replaces oxygen in the air it will cause loss of consciousness and death.
